I just looked at the Dr. Horrible website. It is written and directed by Joss Whedon of Buffy fame. I loved the writing and the story, flawed and loveable. But, I feel it, as was for the "Once More with Feeling" musical Buffy episode, the songs are slightly forgetable and sound very similar. Neil Patrick Harris was awesome, like there was any doubt. I hope that when David Letterman kicks it they Hire Neil Patrick Harris to be a late night host. Wouldn't he be phenomenal? I'd be like Ellen but waaaaaaaaaaaaay better. And if Chris Matthews groped him there could be a fun will they or won't they moment, instead of ,"Oh, it doesn't matter she's a lesbian anyway."
I read that iTunes was getting 200,000 hits an hour for it. And, mad props to Mr. Whedon, I'm a huge Buffy fan, I even got all of Angel and Firefly in hopes to rekindle the Buffy love affair. It was only about 65% rekindled, sigh.
I hope acts II and III can step it up or if not that Joss Whedon will write the Wonder Woman movie, which seems like it would be unrelentlessly corny, but he could pull it off.
